Yes I can see that but it's a very slow ramp rate that I can't seem to make quicker no matter what values I put in.

Still curious why Z1 is locked out from sending the tuning commands while Z2 has a tuner input selected.

I don't know if this was a bug but I have no problem with the moderatior closing this issue since I know the RAW commands to use as a workaround.

Has anyone attempted to reproduce this problem with a currently supported model?

This new feature works but I think it needs a couple more options such as you would have with a regular button event.

1. Pressed Down - I would use this to do volume control one step at a time only (slow method).

2. Pressed - Takes avantage of the offset amount so that you can use a value other than 1 or -1 to quickly get the volume to the desired level (fast method).

Thank you

That's very good news if this does what I need it to do.

Thank you

I upgraded to 1.0.1.13 this evening and this problem came back. Then I downgraded back to 1.0.1.12 now the feedback is working as it should.

With both versions I had the GC driver disabled so that wasn't the problem.

Feature Requests / Onkyo Driver Update
« on: January 27, 2011, 05:30:12 pm »
I believe that Brad maybe working on an update but I thought that I would make an official request.

I have an Onkyo TX-NR708 on the bench (installing it tommorow for a client), from what I've tested so far the Onkyo driver can still operate the unit but a few items are different such as not having an XM or Sirius input.

From what I can tell in order to get to Sirius you have to use the intenet radio command then toggle through the various options available such as Pandora, Rhapsody, Sirius, Slacker, etc.

The present driver doesn't establish communications with it very well, boolean input buttons are missing from the TS Viewer until you physically press an input on the front of the reciever.

Of course feedback of NET/USB metadata and communications via TCP\IP is very desirable.

Thank you,

John,

I actually didn't notice it until you pointed it out, that was very good of you sir.

Yes I feel pretty confident that we can close this issue.

Thank you.

Brad,

I'm a little confused about this one because Z1 and Z2 input commands don't share the same protocol such as the tunup and tundown between zones.

Brad,

Yes the RAW commands that I used are TUNUP and TUNDOWN.

I wouldn't change the driver on account of this since it doesn't affect 2 way communications, but then again you may want to because I imagine that most people will be using the newer protocol.

Not being a coder I really can't provide any good input on the direction or implementation of the driver however your comments seems logical to me.

Brad,

Thank you for creating this awesome driver!

Concincidently the problem seems to have worked itself out with the latest beta version and having the Global Cache driver turned off.

When I had the GC driver turned on I would get errors in the log that showed that it couldn't communicate with port 4999. I don't know why the GC infrared driver attempts to communicate with that port but my virtual serial port program is using that to communicate with the Onkyo via the GC serial port.

btw I'm using VSPE (Virtual Serial Ports Emulator) by Eterlogic.com and it's works great once you create it as a service. The only problem you have to work around is making sure that it starts up before Elve because if it's not running before Elve the PC bootup process will be painfully slow while attempting to communicate with the serial port.

My past issues with the Onkyo driver didn't have anything to do with it being an Integra receiver.

Thank you for looking into this when you get a chance.

Resolved Bugs / Onkyo Send Tuner Preset and Tune Up\Down Commands
« on: January 23, 2011, 06:03:50 am »
The Zone 1 Send Tuning and Preset Up\Down commands don't work when Zone 2 has any tuner bands selected.

The workaround is to send Raw commands.

edit: On version 1.0.1.10
