Nicely said Bob, I agree with you in all aspects.
Would be great to get the IOS app up and running again also as it is a huge part of the system.

General Discussion / Re: Alexa and or IFTTT Integration

Cool. Thanks for that info. I will look into the RZCOP. I don't know if this helps but i find its easier with Alexa to send the commands directly to the M1 and bypass Elve. Its simple to do with the bridge just let me know if you want to know how to do it.
Whole house audio would be interesting.. I currently have a raspberry pi set up as a airplay receiver with the Aux out sent to my amp, the audio out from this then runs out to my M1 through a series of outputs that allow me to turn on and off speakers as I wish. I also added this to Alexa and I can ask her to "turn on  or off the outdoor speaker" etc (also controllable by Elve). I did think about using the Dot because it has an Aux out for this purpose. I think its going to be difficult with the Echo as it has no aux out or Bluetooth out :(
I'd be interested in the Squeezserver skill if it came out

Hi Mike.
Happy new year mate. I also tried using IFTTT last year and you are correct it works but is not very scalable.
I ended up using the HA bridge and have been using it for some time running on a raspberry pi.
It works great and I also run a HomeKit bridge and exposed the Hue Bridge to it as a Phillips Hue hub and now Siri can also control the Elve stuff.

I noticed you are using Zwave for the Lighting. I am currently using X-10 and am looking to move away from it. How are you connecting Zwave to the M1? or are you controlling it from Elve directly?

Third Party Device Driver Software Development / Azure IoT
« on: June 02, 2016, 05:30:56 pm »
Hi Guys.
Just wondering if anybody has had a play around with Azure IoT?
I thought it would be interesting if we could get Elve to send data to the IoT Hub and then use something like PowerBi to do some graphing etc.
The SDK documentation seems fairly extensive.
Seeing as the current IoS app is no longer in the app store I was thinking this may be a nice way of displaying data from Elve.

+ 1 for getting it upgraded and put back on the store. It's a huge loss not having it.

Looks like the current iOS version does not work with iOS 9.
Can anybody confirm this? I have tried it on iPad and iPhone.

Couldn't find it in the Australian store either.

General Discussion / Re: Elve controlled speaker selection
« on: April 04, 2015, 04:28:41 am »
Hi Frunple.
Thanks heaps for your reply.
You are right I did forget to mention how many outputs I needed.
I have 8 speakers so in theory 8 zones.
These are the speakers I have
The old speaker selector I had was something like this :

This unit had load balancing so I did not overload the amp (by turning on all speakers at once) that has just one audio output.
Relays on their own will not have this feature and that is why I think I will have to scrap the amp and selector and just go with one ip enabled unit with multiple zones like russound.

General Discussion / Elve controlled speaker selection
« on: April 03, 2015, 03:17:47 am »
Hi guys.
My speaker selector at home has just died. It was just a simple one with manual switching that I turned on and off when I needed audio in each room. I need to replace it but I want to integrate the audio with my Elve setup.
Here is a little info regarding my setup:
All my speaker cables come back to the area that my Elve server is running in.
I am running a raspberry Pi running shareport that allows IDevices to AirPlay their music to my speakers. This Pi runs a 3.5 mm audio to a powered amp that had an audio out to my now dead selector.
I have an Elk M1 Gold in the same area.
I have an iPad on the kitchen wall running Elve mobile.
Does anybody have any (not too expensive) suggestions to automate the speaker selection with Elve?
Feel free to explain your setup for myself and anybody else that may follow this thread.
P.s if anybody is interested in the AirPlay aspect I can post the details here too.
Thanks Guys.

General Discussion / Re: Emailing Hyperlink
« on: March 03, 2015, 02:24:49 pm »
Thanks mate.
It must have been something in my formatting. It worked in Outlook if the message "Extra line breaks in this message were removed" appeared.
If that message did not appear then it showed as regular text and not as a hyperlink.
I played around with the format and line breaks "\r" and that message disappeared and the link worked.
I don't know why that was happening but it is working now.
Thanks again for your help.

General Discussion / Emailing Hyperlink
« on: March 02, 2015, 07:58:51 pm »
Hi Guys.
I am trying to email a Hyperlink in a rule.
Does anybody have any idea how to do this?
So far I have:
Code: [Select]
emailsender2.SendEmail("someperson@someemail", "Subject Here","Some Text Here " + " \r" +" Please follow this link for more detailed instructions:" + " \r" + "http://www.somewebpage" );
I want the web link to be clickable within the email.
Is it even possible?
Thanks Guys.

Touch Screen Interfaces / Opening Desktop Application in foreground
« on: September 23, 2014, 08:53:48 pm »
Hi All.
I am trying to create a touchscreen with a button that opens VLC Player using the Desktop driver.
It works ok but the TouchScreen viewer always stays in the foreground and VLC cannot be seen.
I have tried using the ToFront Method but TS Viewer still takes priority.
Seems to work ok if TS Viewer is not in full screen mode but I am hoping to have this screen in Kiosk Mode.
Anybody know any way around this?
Thanks guys.
