General Discussion / Re: Elk event driver

I think it would be cool to have a driver that broadcast events to a broker using something like mqtt.

Maybe using m2mqtt.

General Discussion / Re: Backing Up 1.5 before jumping to 2.1

Is installing 2.1 on a separate test computer an option?

Besides your configuration there may be an issue with your license activation.  I know the config file for 2.1 is not encrypted any more (since it does not need to hold the lic activation).

Should new users be able to create an account on these forums?

A user on CocoonTech was not able to create an account.

@John,  I consider a forum and a Wiki two essential tools for good community support.  Obviously this forum contains a lot of good information the community needs.  Are you planning to continue this forum and maybe add a Wiki or is that something the community will need to provide?

Great news about Elve 2.1.

John, hopefully you can open source at least the driver code to everyone.  I think this would be a good way to promote a strong community of developers.

I was having the same problem with 2.0 beta.  BracketNova's workaround worked for me except I had to use the up arrow.

I presume Elve is dead in the water. I never recieved any replies regarding my commercial license reset (despite emailing almost every day) and it expired forcing me to look elsewhere.
Did you ever hear anything from John?

Elve Version 2.0 Beta (Closed) / Re: License Expiry
« on: May 30, 2014, 09:56:53 pm »
Attached is an image of my license pop-up after installing  Is everyone else seeing the same thing?

Yes,  a list with the following would be nice

Driver Name
Developer Name
Release Status (included with Elve, available separately, beta version available, under development, etc)

On the official Device Drivers page
Only one driver (Universal Devices ISY26 / ISY99) is listed as developed by a third party.

Are any of the other drivers included with Elve developed by users?
Is there a list somewhere of 3rd party drivers that are not included with Elve?

As a developer of, which is also built on .NET, I sure would like to see the code opened.  If nothing else, we could use the code from many of the drivers to create more plugins for Open Source Automation.
