Device Configuration / Re: Squeeze driver cover art display
« on: February 01, 2015, 01:49:17 pm »
I feel your pain.  I did get it to work back in the day after some doing. Unfortunately I eventually switched to Sonos and got rid of that screen set, so I don't have the working code anymore.  Side point I did this exact same thing and got cover art from Pandora in CQC in like 2 minutes.  It was ridiculous. Not that I'd go that route.

what features would you want integrated?  part of the issue I was having with this project was why use elve as the front end when so many other native options exist and could do more in their frameworks than Elve could?  ie yaste and xbmc commander etc...

Also if you receive extra data outside of what you are expecting you can wrap your logic in a try/catch. Then you can keep your script going when you encounter an unexpected value.

'lightlevel' should be singular.

Rules Configuration / Re: Get status of "all" devices?

Elk guy here,  but I'll take a stab.  Are locks treated like a zone? if so can you define a new area consisting of all your locks and then check if the area is secure?

General Discussion / Re: Elk event driver
« on: October 12, 2014, 08:44:10 am »
I got something basic going where I store the date time of zone status changes.  then I subtract current status change date time from the stored to get duration.  I keep updating the stored value when ever a current event occurs.  that way I always have a way to get current duration. I have this info on a ts so I really know when the kids went down for naps and how long they slept for.

is your 'music zone' a global variable cause it looks like the control is looking for a local variable.  try changing to something like 'vars.musicZone' assuming your global variable driver is nicknamed vars. Otherwise you can copy the value from global to local on screen initialization.

Touch Screen Interfaces / Re: Opening Desktop Application in foreground

do you need to go back to viewer after vlc? I had issues trying to launch stuff back in the day from the desktop app. maybe you could invoke something that can trigger event ghost.  event ghost has been able to solve a lot of my touch screen to remote pc woes.

cool idea.  I haven't messed around with arduino much. What kind of things would you like to see and maybe some ideas for uses.

The online manual has lots of examples here. What exactly is the problem are you having?

That's fine with me iolaus. I don't know anything about GitHub so feel free to take it and upload it / run with it.

My apologies for anyone waiting on this. I keep thinking I will make the time to finish it, but life keeps getting in the way. Here is a link to the Visual Studio project files for anyone interested in taking over. It's in VB.net. Many sections are sloppy as I was doing quick tests to get it up and running, but didn't clean it up or condense it. Please reply to this thread with any questions regarding what was going on.
