General Discussion / Re: Backing Up 1.5 before jumping to 2.1
« on: June 29, 2014, 03:31:43 pm »
The FAQ has full manual backup information. This is different than the export/import method listed in this thread. The export/import method only backs up the configuration and touch screens, it does not backup custom 3rd party drivers, etc.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, the v2.1 config folder contents will not work with v1.5 so if you think you might revert back to v1.5 you would want to backup that folder before upgrading.

I'm guessing you're not wrong.

I'm hoping so, the driver certainly worked when it was developed.

The driver was written quite some time ago and I believe at the time the driver was finished the Vera architecture may have taken a turn that was not backwards compatible... Something about lua(?) rings a bell? Vera was kind enough to provide me a demo unit, but they failed to inform me of the architecture change. I spent a considerable amount of time on this driver and it was disappointing that when I released it, it may have been obsolete....

I would love for someone to prove me wrong... And I would be happy to provide the drive source code.... Perhaps I am misinformed our perhaps there is just a minor tweak needed to the driver.

I posted a new version which should fix SendRawCommand. Please let me know... although I understand you won't be able to handle the response at this time.

Wow, I just looked at the v2.1 download log and noticed an impressive download count just within the 1st couple days!!

If you have the time and energy please feel free to post the news on other general automation forums... as I have not yet had a chance to write up a press release.

Thank you for your support.

Also please note that the "SS" response is currently not handled by the driver and there is not a generic event raised when messages are received.

Just taking a quick look at this... to send the full command "06ss0054", use the following:

Code: [Select]
elkm1.SendRawCommand( "ss", "0054" );
You do not need to prefix the data length of 06 since the driver will do that for you.

Elve Version 2.1 Beta / Re: Elve 2.1 Beta Download
« on: June 26, 2014, 05:44:49 pm »
I verified that the Chrome web browser is incorrectly reporting the download as malicious. It is not malicous and I have verified with 3 different anti-virus and anti-malware software. I re-zipped the files and I still get the same result. After doing a small amount of research it looks like Chrome "likes" popular sites, sites with ssl downloads, and or signed executable files, etc.  I'll hold off on doing anything more at the moment, but for those of you using Chrome, please use a different browser to download the installer.

Thanks

Thanks for the screen shot, very odd. What is your screen text size set to? 100%, 125%, 150%
