Bug Reports / Simulated Input - Keystrokes - Not Working After Upgrade
« Last post by threedee on February 16, 2015, 04:28:00 am »
I was using the very old 1.0.1.0

I used the simulated input to send keystrokes to windows media center. This is far more reliable than IR blasting and has never failed me. However, after upgrading to 2.2 (major update) they do not work anymore.

-----
For example, the GUIDE used to be accessed via an action that now says "Simulates pressing and holding the modifier key 17 while the 71 key is pressed and released"

However, I think it should be CNTRL + G, which was probably input as ^ for CNTRL

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/media-center-keyboard-shortcuts#1TC=windows-7
----

After upgrading I now get this error in the log:
"An error occurred while executing the script rule "Keys_Guide". ScriptEvaluationException: An unknown error occurred while evaluating the script. ...

---

The only difference I did was upgrade from 1.0.1.0 to 2.2. It was working for years before that.

Device Configuration / Re: Squeeze driver cover art display

I feel your pain.  I did get it to work back in the day after some doing. Unfortunately I eventually switched to Sonos and got rid of that screen set, so I don't have the working code anymore.  Side point I did this exact same thing and got cover art from Pandora in CQC in like 2 minutes.  It was ridiculous. Not that I'd go that route.

I know this is a really old thread...

I just recently found Elve, too bad John has stopped development. I am considering using it to replace Openremote, but I am actually seeing the same behavior as this thread describes. Seems that cover art works unless i am playing music from Pandora, in which case i see the radio tower logo instead. seems that the image is viewable using the squeezeserver web interface, but Elve seems to be looking at a specific folder.

I see here that you were looking at somehow scraping the image, can you explain if you were able to resolve this?

what features would you want integrated?  part of the issue I was having with this project was why use elve as the front end when so many other native options exist and could do more in their frameworks than Elve could?  ie yaste and xbmc commander etc...

Believe I finally have this figured out.

First off, it appears Elve is expecting an HTTP PUT (as apposed to a POST as specified in the documentation).

Additionally, the content-type in the request header should be:

Content-Type: text/xml

and the request body need to be surrounded by xml tags as follows:

<string xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/">{Elve Command(s) Here}</string>

Have any of you fine code crunchers made any headway here?  What a great addition this would be!!  AS always, willing to help, but I'm a systems eng, not a dev.  :-/

Bug Reports / REST API - 405 Error on POST
« Last post by iolaus on January 10, 2015, 12:34:04 pm »
I've been trying to utilize the REST API using the POST syntax specified in the documentation.  I've been building up a test request in Fiddler but I receive an HTTP 405 response whenever I utilize POST.  I've been using GET requests successfully for quite some time but have been unable to send complex script arguments (presumably because of URL encoding issues).

Any ideas?

Third Party Device Driver Software Development / Existing C# Library
« Last post by Frunple on January 07, 2015, 11:29:28 am »
Just a programming question... If there is an existing dll for a device that isn't currently supported, What's the process of writing a driver with the existing library?? Is it just a matter of "pointing" the Elve props and methods to the library?
