Media Error
« on: February 20, 2012, 12:54:26 pm »
I am running beta .90 and can reproduce the following error;  I need some clue as to where to look for the problem as it is fairly non-descript.

Date:     2/20/2012
Time:     2:49:58 PM
Severity: Error
Source:   MasterService
Computer: GIGA
Context Type: None
Context Name:
Description:
An unexpected error occured while recording device property values for device 'mediaplayer. ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: The propertyValue can not be null because none of the supported types are nullable.
ArgumentNullException ParamName: The propertyValue can not be null because none of the supported types are nullable.

System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: The propertyValue can not be null because none of the supported types are nullable.
at SharedLibrary.DevicePropertyValueChange..ctor(String deviceName, String propertyName, Int32 propertyIndex, Object propertyValue)
   at MasterService.DevicePropertyRecorder.recordIteration()
Thanks!

I looked into it and it looks like a bug.

What device driver are you using for the device named "mediaplayer"?

I'll improve the error message as well as fix the issue.

UPDATE: I found the issue and will fix it, thanks for the report.

I'll be posting the fix for this in a few minutes.

This issue was deep in the core of Elve and the fix affects both the device property recorder and sending out device property change notifications although only the later had the issue.
