Making Android (actually mobile in general) Buttons
« on: May 19, 2012, 12:07:12 pm »
Video here. 8 minutes long, even left in the mistakes  :D

Any opinions on which one is the best?
BTW, looks great on ipod also so if anyone wants it, just ask. Or if you just want the/some buttons.

While the chrome-like background is neat, it's hard to read text on it.

Personally I think I like the Access and Security background.

PS: You can attach the export file to your post to let other user's try it.

I agree. I tried almost every color available and there wasn't really a winner. BTW, something's going on with the colors. They seem to go on forever but it just keeps repeating the same colors.

They were 'inspired' by HTC's Sense theme. It's kinda a mesh look. I actually went with the "climate" button but I noticed you can't really see it in the video. It's a fur texture and the way it fit the buttons was perfect.

Yeah, I could have but I was hoping to get some feedback on it first. Also, it's still a work in progress, especially the sub-buttons. They are really small, although I haven't had any wrong clicks yet, but they really need to be bigger. Unfortunately they can't be unless we have the "scrolling" option. What was the holdup with that again?? I know you mentioned it but I forget. Is it gonna be possible with Elve 2? Really is needed.

Nothing, I have it working beautifully here. ;)

The rest of the app just isn't ready for a major beta release yet.

Frunple,
Thanks for sharing these vids! I appreciate you sharing your skills/knowledge in this easy to digest format.
I always wanted to be somebody. In retrospect, I think I should have been more specific.

No problem, glad that can be of some use.
If theres any question, since they aren't narrated (what a pain that is!) feel free to ask and just point out the time and I'll take a look and 'try' to explain it. :)
