Axis Video Server
« on: May 26, 2012, 12:34:53 pm »
Can you check this error I am getting on an old Axis 2400 video encoder I picked up:
Code: [Select]
5/26/2012 12:06:23 PM  Failed to open connection to read image stream.
WebException: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.
   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.EndGetResponse(IAsyncResult asyncResult)
   at TouchScreen.TSControls.MjpegReader.getResponseCallback(IAsyncResult ar)

The video server log shows:
Code: [Select]
Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request.   len=223
May 26 11:52:15 AxisServer boa[40]: xxx.xxx.xxx - "GET /axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution=320x240&camera=Quad&fps=1 HTTP/1.1" 401 0
May 26 11:52:15 AxisServer camd[22]: CGI syntax error 163 str=HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request^M Connection: close^M Content-Type: text/html^M ^M

After messing around with this I found the resolution parameter is causing this issue.

I always wanted to be somebody. In retrospect, I think I should have been more specific.

Here's the documentation for the url format:
http://www.axis.com/files/manuals/24hum.pdf

It looks like the 2400 does not support some of the parameters like resolution or fps, and it doesn't support quad view.

I added the 2400 and 2401 as a separate option for Elve 2.0 but for Elve 1.x you may enter a custom url and remove the invalid parameters.

For example try somthing like:

http://xxxxxxxx/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?camera=1

Please let me know the results... it should work.

Thanks John. That was the issue exactly. Custom URL works as expected.
