Touch Screen Viewer Lite Ghosting
« on: July 14, 2012, 07:09:23 pm »
Ok this feels like a bug but every time I go down that path its something I've done so I thought I'd do some homework first.

Every time I run TS viewer Lite and change inner touch screens I have a ghosted image of the previous touch screen. This is bad enough that it can make it hard to see controls on the active touch screen.

Anything I'm doing wrong?

Also, I did search but I'm not sure of the correct terminology to search on so if this has been covered I apologize.

Are you seeing this in the full Touch Screen Viewer app as well?

Nope. Just in lite.

1. If you have an iOS or Android device can you please test it on that device?  Elve Mobile and Touch Screen Viewer Lite both use the Touch Service, while the full Touch Screen Viewer app does not. I'd like to know if you see the same issue using Elve Mobile.

2. What quality setting are you using in Touch Screen Viewer Lite?  Please toggle the setting and retest to see if it only works using one of the settings.

Thanks

I'm in the process of selecting a tablet. I no longer have an Iphone or android device.  I never saw it in the past but I was using a different  touch screen with a darker background. I confirmed that I don't see the ghosting with the old touch screen. Only with the new touch screen. The other difference there is between the old and new touch screen is the "inner touch screen" layout. I have nested touch screens in the new layout (main --> inner --> additional inner) in the new layout however the ghosting affects both inner touch screens.

I'll try to borrow a tablet and try it out.

Regarding the settings, changing the settings doesn't affect the ghosting. The ghosting is there regardless of settings.

Ok, I finally borrowed a tablet. Ok, I bought a Nexus 7.

Ghosting is in the android app for my main house app.

You're gonna have to post your exported screens and have someone go through them to see if they can find the issue.
I don't believe anyone else is seeing anything like this so it's probably something specific to your screens.
I'll take a look if you want me to.

Screenshots are in the first post. I'm starting to suspect a memory issue but I'm not sure.  I'm going to play with reducing the memory usage of the touch screen.

No if you export your screen set and post it then another user could try it and see if the issue is your screen set or your hardware.

I always wanted to be somebody. In retrospect, I think I should have been more specific.

And this is why I shouldn't respond to posts after a couple of margarita supremos.. I've attached the export this time. Thank you for pointing out my error!

A few notes,
- this is a work in progress (just preparing my excuse)
- I had to delete some functionality to get under the file size restriction (but it is still ghosting)
- Thanks for looking......

I messed around with it a little bit. Try this (attached). Changed the screens backgrond from transparent to the main interface background. Didn't seem to lag with the change. Still had one icon ghosting when going from basement to home screen. Not sure why that is happening. Hope this is a step in the right direction.

The import wants me to overwrite my existing screens.... arg.  While I figure out how to avoid this did you just change the background of the inner touch screens?

At least you see the ghosting..... probably something I did but at least its repeatable.

Thank you!

You don't want to overwrite your old screens.

I recommend changing the name of the directory that your current screens are in. Then import the new screens.

You can change the directory name by using Touch Screen Builder. In the touch screen chooser window, select the directory, then click the "rename" toolbar button.

Hi folks, my 701 had an "emergency landing" and it got its touch screen shattered... In my country the 701 was not launched but c7 was. Is easier for me to find c7s digitizer. Are they compatible? Can i use the c7 replacement on my c7?
