How can we tell the app to load a landscape screen when rotated??

That app automatically chooses the orientation based on the resolution of the touch screen interface. If the interface is wider than it is tall, then the app will show it in landscape mode.

That doesn't really make much sense though. What if the phone is mounted in a car mount in landscape orientation, I wouldn't want to have to set a different set of screen in the user manager, then log in. It should rotate with the screen.
Or is there another way to tell it to load the landscape screens?

There is currently no way to force the app into portrait or landscape mode. One of the issues with this is that viewing an interface in the wrong orientation causes the interface to shrink to fit the screen which can make it more difficult to use.
