VRC0Pv3 Issue Failed Node/X001
« on: July 06, 2013, 11:49:22 pm »
I've spent the last few days trying to get Elve set up and have run into issues with the Z-wave driver.  After setup of the z-wave driver/inclusion into network of vrc0p and completion of driver startup, everything will work fine for a certain amount of time until the VRC0P begins to report X001 when attempting to issue commands.  My primary controller reports the VRC0P as a failed node.  Network checking/rediscovery yields no change.  It takes removing the VRC0P from the network and re-adding to get it back into a working state.  I can't figure out what is causing this.

Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I came from Premise, with which the VRC0P worked fine (initialization also took considerably less time) so I know its not a network/hardware issue.

Well I'm going back to Premise.  I've determined that the failed node issue is indeed a result of the Elve z-wave driver and its (over?-)zealous startup routine.  Unfortunate. I really wanted to give Elve a shot based on all the recommendations on other boards.

Thanks for the info.  I was considering adding some z-wave to my setup so this is valuable feedback.

I always wanted to be somebody. In retrospect, I think I should have been more specific.
