NuVo Grand Concerto?

Checking to see if any users have the Nuvo GC working?  It looks like the only config option is the serial port number.  When I reset the device via Elve, the device shows as connected and ready.  As soon as I invoke any method it goes offline.  The log file shows a timeout as soon as the command is issued.  I have tried both the released version and beta version of Elve with the same results.

Update:  I double checked the Device is Ready For Use Property,  it starts as true and changes to false after a few seconds after restarting.

I'm pretty sure the device is Ok,  I can connect with the Nuvo client via the serial port on the same server with no problem.  I'm  dead in the water without the sound system working. 

Any help is appreciated,
