License Expiry
« on: May 26, 2014, 05:09:09 pm »
Hi all.
My license for Beta 2.0 that I use at home has expired.
Does anybody have a spare one or know how I can get one?
It did expire previously and I just re-installed but I don't want to have to keep doing this.
Thanks guys.

Supposedly there is no license for 2.0. It shouldn't expire at all.

Yeah, that's what I thought too but it seems that it does.
I have re-installed a number of times and each time it has expired.

I've never had 2.0 not expire so I'm still using 1.5.  I've been able to get 30 days at a time by re-installing but that's been about it.  If I could get 2.0 to not expire I might be more motivated to work on drivers for it.

I wonder if it has something to do with having a version of Elve (Trial or otherwise) installed on the machine previous to installing 2.0 Beta?
I might try installing the Beta on a laptop with a fresh copy of windows to see what happens.
Maybe there is something in the registry that stays there after uninstalling a previous version that kicks in the expiry.

Attached is an image of my license pop-up after installing 2.0.0.6  Is everyone else seeing the same thing?

I upgraded fine to 2.0.0.6 a while back on a system with an already valid license and never had any expiration issues. I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones (knock on wood). If you run the trial on a pc with no license it will expire. In any event I *think* I have an extra license. It was supposedly reset a while back and I never tried to activate it. PM me if you want it. Preference will go to developers who can help the product live on.
I always wanted to be somebody. In retrospect, I think I should have been more specific.
