Day Name for Log Display Range Inconsistent
« on: November 15, 2010, 01:52:15 pm »
The Day name for 12:00 AM seems to be inconsistent between the From and To pull down date selectors.

When I call up the Diagnostics Log, it shows:
From Sunday, November 14 2010 12:00 AM
To Tuesday, November 15 2010 12:00 AM

It looks like it should be:
From Monday, November 14 2010 12:00 AM
To Tuesday, November 15 2010 12:00 AM

November 14, 2010 is a Sunday, not a Monday so that looks right to me.

The log default to 1 day ago to 1 day from now since it is a network distributed application and messages can be logged from any timezone.
The log default to 1 day ago to 1 year from now since it is a network distributed application and messages can be logged from any timezone and so you can repeatedly click the Refresh button and not miss any new events.

...yea but the new day starts at 12:00am not 12:01am.  Sunday at 12:00am is a date of 11/14 where Monday at 12:00am is technically 11/15.  This year there is no such date as Monday 11/14 @ 12:00am.

I see my suggestion was not exactly correct.  It should be:

From Sunday, November 14 2010 12:00 AM
To Tuesday, November 16 2010 12:00 AM

As it is, you have Sunday the 14th to Tuesday the 15th.  You've jumped two day name days, but only one day number day.  Tuesday is the 16th, not the 15th.

So your log span of time is two full days being all day Sunday 11/14 through all day Monday 11/15, ending at the start of Tuesday 11/16.  Maybe I do not see the issue.
Thanks!

Each time I look at it, I discover something I missed.  I just noticed that the end date is actually listed as 2011, not 2010.  So, while I was going to say there is no such date as Tuesday, November 15, 2010, that's not what it says.  It says, Tuesday, November 15, 2011, which is indeed a correct date.  It just seems as though the default time span is 1year and 2 days, not just two days.

Yes the end date is in the future so that you can click refresh at any time and expect to see new items, that's why you see the end date default to a year in the future. (I had incorrectly stated that it was a day in the future earlier in the post based on your original post).

So things look right at this point.
